about

“The best way to see black is not to try to see it, but to remember pleasant scenes and events out of the past….”

Rapidly Shifting Fixation
Whenever we move, objects in the external world appear to move in the opposite direction. Be aware of this apparent movement. Encourage free mobility in the controlling mind. Where such freedom of mobility exists, mental tightness is relaxed. Replace staring by rapidly shifting central fixation.

The Principle of the Swing
Remain to look straight ahead, swing the body, regularly, gently and not too rapidly, from side to side. Move in conjunction with the body. Whenever we move, objects in the external world appear to move in the opposite direction. Note the flow. Close your eyes. Swing. Visualize the movement. Open again and observe. Close again and visualize. The mind becomes aware of the journey.

The Attitude of Mind
The external world seems to oscillate. No attempt should be made to pay attention to anything. Complete passivity and indifference are recommended. Let the world go by without caring. Do not make any effort to perceive the outer environment. Surrender to pure sensing. Take a holiday from your “I”.

Remind the Eyes to Move
Whenever you move, let the world go by and be aware of its course. Think looseness as you watch it rise and fall. Blink frequently. Break the habit of staring. Spur into the indispensable condition of fluidity.
